Witness the dynamic White Scars hurtle headlong into combat with the unyielding Death Guard, as brothers battle with the fate of Terra in the balance.
THE STORY
The Inner Walls have at last been breached.
Traitor vanguards tear towards the heart of the Imperial Palace, sensing victory. The defenders launch gambits and fallbacks, each more desperate than the last – an unwilling saint is released into the ruins, along with an enthusiastic sinner. A black sword rises, forged from spite, ready to create a legend. Yet amidst the slaughter and despair, it is Jaghatai Khan, Warhawk of Chogoris, who prepares the most audacious strike of the conflict.
Cut off from reinforcements, the Khan stakes everything on a single shocking counter-offensive. His goal? Nothing less than the liberation of the Lion's Gate space port. To reclaim this facility might shift the balance of the entire siege – but one of the Khan's fallen brothers lies in wait, and Mortarion, Lord of the Death Guard, leads forces transformed by gifts both foul and unnatural. As the White Scars ride out against the newly crowned lords of life and death, they know that defeat will doom not only the Legion, but Terra itself.
